We followed their instructions and the bottom line is they messed up. They tried to turn the situation around as if we misunderstood them. Absolutely no integrity!! It was their mistake not ours! They made no apologies and in fact were down right rude to us.
My fiancé and I came in the store shopping for our wedding rings. We purchased an engagement ring and wedding band set for $2,000. Beautiful rings for a great price. So where is the issue?
Here is the thing: They shouldn’t make these big claims if they won’t back it up. Mostly, they should have integrity and keep the good relationship with their customers. If you look on their website (this is also printed on the back of the receipt) the Double Value Guarantee states: If it does not appraise double the value of the purchase price, then at the discretion of the Jewelry Exchange they will either refund the full purchase price and the cost of the appraisal upon the return of the undamaged item, or give store credit for the difference and half of the cost of the appraisal.
I am completely appalled by the lack of integrity anyone has in this establishment.
A total of five visit's to this store and I do not own a single piece of jewelry from them. Save yourself some time and frustration by skipping this place.
Shopped around for engagement rings and the Jewelry Exchange was able to get me the best cut at the best price. Inez is the sweetest lady and will bend over backwards to help out. Thank you so much!
Twenty minutes later the gentleman came back out and explained that these particle rings were not made by the Jewelry Exchange and therefore did not fall under the Double Value Guarantee, but rather the Low Price Guarantee. Liars!!
Inez is always very helpful and nice. We had a set budget and she helped fit nearly everything I wanted in a ring set within that budget. I get compliments on them all the time!
We purchased an engagement ring from them 1.5 years ago and I'm finally writing a review now. Horrible experience buying a $10,000 engagement ring here. We chose a beautiful setting and diamond which was custom made due to I am a size 4. When we went to pick it up 6 weeks later, they had made the ring in a totally different setting and tried to tell my husband it was what we chose until he showed them the picture of the correct setting. They sent it back to their manufacturer/jeweler and 2 months later with no communication in between called to say it was done. 3 months after picking it up, the diamonds came loose and they informed us that it is a fragile ring and I shouldn't wear it too much and it will need maintenence about 2-3 times a year taking 1-2 months each time to repair. Then they said they will have to send it back to their jeweler and couldn't guarantee it would be back in time for our wedding. After several conversations with the store and corporate and them not coming to any satisfactory conclusions, we brought the ring to another jeweler who popped out the main diamond and made me a beautiful ring in time for our wedding in 6 weeks. Unfortunately the setting from Jewelry Exchange can't be made into another ring due to the 1.5k of diamonds are in an invisible setting. As a result we are stuck with the $4,500 setting from jewelery exchange which just sits in my jewelry box because in good conscious I can not sell it to someone else. Jewelry exchange truly ruined our engagement ring buying experience and I do not recommend purchasing from them. I also work in the wedding planning industry and know how important an engagement ring is to a bride and groom. Unacceptable.
I absolutely love this store. The sales staff are very personal and accommodating.
When we brought the appraisal and receipt into the store and informed the salesperson that the rings did not appraise for double the purchased price. We were asked to give them a few minutes, while they made a ‘phone call’. I would have loved to be a fly on that wall!!
Well they were not going to extend a little more than $1,300 dollars to us in store credit, but rather chose to refund the cost of the rings, so they can have their items back and be without a loss of money. Never mind the fact they lost a customer for life and potentially new customers because I am sharing my story with everyone I know. Even with people I don’t know, if I over hear them talking about The Jewelry Exchange.
Wanted to add that after I sent an email to the manager, I got a phone call telling me to come in and they would return the cost of the appraisal.
In the end, they offered a us a refund for the rings. We returned the rings.
We were given a list of their approved appraisers and told to have the rings appraised within thirty days of the purchase date. They said our rings would appraise double what we paid for guarantee and if they did not, we would be reimbursed the difference.
Hustlers!!
Well, this doesn’t make sense because their Low Price Guarantee is when a customer finds an equivalent item at a lower price and that item is in-stock and offered to the general public, The Jewelry Exchange will give the customer a refund. We would not have been given a list of appraiser’s and told our rings will appraise double the purchased price. Tricksters I tell ya!!
I had the rings appraised. It cost $170.00 for both. The rings were appraised at $2,700. Swing and a miss!!
Shame on you Jewelry Exchange!
To prove my point of the lack of integrity any of these people have, if they also returned the $170.00 dollars for the appraisal, they would have honored their guarantee. Thieves!!
